I have a well established Pyracantha hedge. Over the last year I have noticed that a portion of it has begun to yellow and it seems to be dying off a little. The leaves have what look like scorch marks. It is a south facing hedge so I thought it might be sun scorching but the problem only seems to be effecting one portion of the hedge. I have included a photo of the problem. It is probably worth mentioning that I took about two foot of the top of the hedge a few years back. Maybe it was damaged then. What is your opinion?
It is a notifiable disease to the Dept of Agriculture and affected plants are supposed to be burnt.
