Insectidal soap

Don Foley asked 9 years ago

I’m trying to grow organic and to that end I’m looking to make my own insecticide. Quiet a few of the formulas I have come across on line specify either insecticidal soap or dishwashing fluid as part of the formulation. Can you recommend an organic version and supplier of either of these.

We are not aware of any outlet for organic inseticidal soap and it would seem that no such product is registered with the Pesticide Control Service for sale to the public, except products already madeup, such as Doff Greenfly Killer, which contains, fatty acids, the active part of insecticidal soap.

Washing up liquid is generally used in low concentrations of about 5ml per litre. This can scorch plants in some circumstances, hot weather, for example.
