Many apples on my 35 year old Bramley tree are rotten. Wonder why?

Although it has been quite a good summer, there was a wet spell in July that encouraged brown rot disease of apples, and it seems to be quite common.
It has been increasing in recent summers … and the only way to reduce it is to remoave all rotten fruit both on the ground and on the trees and bury them. Make sure to remove mummified fruits in winter too.Â
