What vegetables, if I sow them now, will be ready for Christmas?

The middle of August is a bit late for vegetables except for a ew quick maturing kinds, such as seakale beet, radish, lettuce, perhaps spinach and chinese bcabbage too. But whether they would still be around at Christmas with slugs and bad weather in between..
