An old friend of mine has an apple tree growing in her garden and each year the apples are attacked by codling moth. Is there any way of preventing this preferably organic . She is talking of cutting it down

Codling moth can be controlled by spraying at petal fall and again 2 or three weeks later with a systemic insecticide. Try to reach all of the tree and stay out of the spray mist.
There is a coling moth control with eelworms, which is available from Mr Middleton.Â
