Is it possible to plant shrubs, plants, in containers for winter colour?.

Small shrubs, such as skimmia, heather, pernettya and hebe can be used in pots or other contianers, along with winter/spring bedding such as pansies and primroses, with some spring bulbs to follow.
Perennial evergreen flowers such as grasses, phormium and bergenias can be used in this way too.
