Dog eating plants

Barbara Flynn asked 17 years ago

I have waited 7 years for our garden and we finally have it – or at least the blank canvas. However, we didn’t have to wait so long for a stray dog to wander in and my kids to fall in love with it.The dog is in situ and this is my first year to see a little progress from newly laid shrubs and trees. NOW THE DOG IS CHEWING AND EATING THEM. Is there a spray or anything to use as a deterent ? Please help

There are sprays and dusts based on pepper, but these have limited effect as they wsah off. They might be useful in trying to train the dog, and more can be achieved by training than by treating the plants.
