Is there a hardy type of escallonia which would be suitable. 1 Answers 0 Vote Up Vote Down Gerry Daly Staff answered 7 years ago Escallonia is not fully hardy and has been damaged by frost, and also recently by leaf spot disease. But a frost fo such severity is very unusual. Ordinary green holly would be a good choice of hardy wind-resistant hedge.
