We have a poly tunnel and i would like to know whether farmyard or horse manure would be the better to use or should i have applied it earlier.

Adding some well-rotted manure is a good idea as it opens up the soil. But do not over-do or plants grow very leafy, and it must be well-rotted or it can give off ammonia which can scorch plants.
