My dad died recently and we’re in the process of clearing his house. There’s a rose bush in front garden which my mother planted that I want to try and take as the garden is being paved. It’s an old bush but flowers beautifully each year, Turkish delight scent! What is best way to give it a chance of surviving. It’s not been cut back this year?

Cut it back hard, lift it as carefully as possible and move it immediately to a new place or pot it up. Watch it for water, but don’t overdo it, when new growth appears.
