I am trying to remove an ivy from my mother’s house that has started to go up under the roof. I have managed to remove the ivy but it is leaving terrible marks on the walls that I cannot remove. Any advice on how to remove these marks.

These marks are very difficult to remove as they are a combination of dead material from the skin of the shoots and stain gone into the paint or plaster. You can use a wire brush to remove the loose material and paint over, or leave it for a while to become looser before brushing
