Something is eating the leaves on my newly planted Magnolia tree,it was planted approx five weeks ago,I put grit around the base of the plant as I thought it was slugs,have not seen any slug trail since ,but the leaves are still being eaten.Corkylad

It is probably snails and the slime trails are being washed away with rain. Grit makes no difference.
