I have limited room in a school garden, crocuses have been planted in a bed with some daffodils but over the next few weeks I want to plant the bed with vegetables, can the bulbs be lifted and stored for next year, or should I plant the veg in with them? If the crocuses are left in the bed will they completely take over in a few years and leave no room for veg? Should I be trying to mix a flower bed and vegetables at all?

Crocuses and daffodils need to be allowed to wither back fully to form their corms and bulbs for next year and this will be not before June. So if you want to sow vegetable seeds, you will have to remove and discard the bulbs, or plant them out elsewhere.
You need to have separate flower beds and vegetable beds.Â
