I bought a plant of Liriope Muscari about two years and it just deteriorated in ordinary soil, so I dug it up and potted it in ericaceous compost, but it is literally hanging on by a thread. It is a golden leaved variety. Why won’t it thrive? I thought it was an easy plant!

Liriope is generally an easy plant to grow, but gold-leaves forms are not as robust.
It likes light, open, well-drained soil with some humus and in light shade or part-day shade. It does prefer an acidic soil but not necessarily so.
The soil or position must not have suited it.
