I have various types of bulbs that I want to mix in containers to have all year round colour at my front door. Is is possible to mix bulbs or would over crouding result in a poor show. The containers I have are 25cm x 50cm deep and 30cm x 60cm deep. The bulps I have are Hyacinth, Anemone, Tulip, Fritillary, Allium and Echinechia. Thanks

In general bulbs mix very well in pots and are often grown this way for spring effect. It is a bit ambitious to think about having them go the whole year round … February to May is possible with crocus, mini-daffodils, dwarf tulips and late-flowering tulips.

The echinacea and other herbaceous plants in the same pot as bulbs would out-compete them.
