Grass like shrub with beautiful orange flower, seen roadside @ dingle peninsula. How and when do I propogate?

Montbretia is a perennial flower, not a shrub. It can be propagated in the dormant season by lifting and dividing a clump, replanting the pieces right away. it is very easy to propagate and grow but can be too rampant in the wrong place.
