About 2 years ago a mature Acacia ( not sure but would guess about 7 years old as was rather expensive ) was planted in what has turned out to be the wrong position, now I would like to move it & as I have access to a mini digger would love to know if , when & how this would be possible.

Acacia is very poor at moving. Even though just two years planted it is likely to get a severe set-back. On the plus side, the fact hat it was potted, relatively mature, and planted just two years ago might help.
The chances of success are poor. Â If you are going to risk it, try in early March as growth begins.
