Is it just our garden or is there a severe shortage of plum blossoms this year? Every other year our trees would be overlaiden with blossoms at this time of year, but this year there are very few. Is there anything I can do to remedy this?

Plums can have on and off years, when they rest due to having carried a heavy crop the previous year. Or if the tree was hit by a bad attack of greenflies the previous summer.
The fruit buds of plums can be picked out by bullfinches in a rural area.
