Geraldine Butterworth asked 15 years ago

I am growing 8 rows of potatoes about 12 feet long. A couple of the stalks in the middle of the rows are wilting. What could cause this? frances

This could be blackleg disease which causes the lower stems to rot on an occasional plant. Remove and destroy the affected plants.

It is likely to affect just a few plants. Do not save your own seed potatoes for next year.
