Is it too late to feed? plants not even showing any buds just lots of leaves looking glossy and green? What have I done wrong??

Camellias growing in ordinary soil do not need feeding to flower, but do like to get a mulch of rotted leaves.
In a pot, they need to be fed every 3 or 4Â weeks from April to September and kept watered throughout.
