Can you please tell me what is growing on my lawn? it seems to be a gold/yellow colour fungus that appears overnight and then eventually wears away within 7-10 days – but more and more patches are appearing every night? I can’t see any bugs etc so I assume it’s a fungus of some sort – also how should I treat it? Many Thanks

This is a fungal disease called fusarium or ‘snow mould’ because it often appears after snow lies in springtime, but it also appears in early autumn.
It usually affects lawns that have been fed with fertilizer and are vigorous. It peters out and any patch left soon is filled from the edges. It is not worth treating on a domestic scale.
