My pyracantha has a lot of leaves which appear to be dying alongside perfectly healthy ones. What could be the cause and what should I do?

This is pyracantha scab disease which affects many varieties of pyracantha and can be controlled by spraying with rose spray from early in the year, or start now.
If spraying is too bothersome, you need to consider removing the plant if it gets too shabby.
