small black slug attacking potatoes this year it gets right into potatoe can i prevent it next year

Slugs invariably attack potatoes when organic material has been used. so use only bag ferilizer for a time. Also early varieties are not as badly afffected. ‘Golden Wonder’ and ‘Pentland Dell’ are reasonably resistant.
