I have a beautiful thirty feet tall Silver Birch in the wrong location (small back garden). With winter imminent it needs to be removed. Can it be transplanted and do you know where I might find a good home for it ?

In theory yes, in practice no. Birch is very difficult to move successfully as a semi-mature tree. To apple the professional skills and effort required would be totally impractical.
