I attach pic of unusual plant which has appeared in our garden – can you solve the mystery? We don’t know what it is.

This is the Canary Island borage, Echium pininana, which has been much planted in gardens in recent years. You got it via a seed, which it freely produces, that arrived in mud on footwear or a car, or it came in a pot form elsewhere.
