Vegetables suitable for shade

Laurence Maher asked 14 years ago

Neighbour has built a high wall by my veg plot. I now only get sun early in the morning and then for the late afternoon. While I understand vegs need sun, what vegs would be more tolerant of shade than others ?

Most vegetables need as much sun as possible but chard, lettuce, parsley, rocket and beetroot can perform reasonably well in part-day shade, also raspberries, alpine strawberries and red currants.
