Hi Gerry, I have a very large steep bank in my back garden and it is very difficult to maintain so over the past 5 years we are just letting ivy grow over it, which acts as ground cover and prevents weeds growing on it. I was just wondering if you could recommend anything that might kill weeds, sticky backs, thorns, etc on the bank but no harm the ivy? Many thanks

Ivy is quite resistant to Roundup, but this will deal with most other weeds. The ivy will get a set-back but recover. If you applied a light dose, about 1 parts in 200 parts water, you should get an adequate kill of weeds but the ivy will recover.
