I have a large 2 acre site. We planted approx 200m of beech hedging along the perimeter of the site 4 years ago but it is struggling in places due to the wet clay soils (I was only informed that beech does not like wet soils after it was all planted!) Can you recommend some shrubs that will grow well in these conditions. I am going to plant them infront of the failing beech as the site is too large to start again from scratch. I have planted various dog woods in another area and they are thriving as they love the wet conditions but I am looking for something with that will provide cover and shelter all year round.
